Martin Luther King Jr. National Holiday

We started celebrating this national holiday after the assassination of Martin. one Congressman called John Conyers Jr. of Michigan introduced the first legislation seeking to make King’s birthday, Jan. 15 a federal holiday but changed to January 21st. The origins of this holiday are based on racism, politics, and conspiracy. We celebrate this day in honor of the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr, who was a powerful influential American civil rights leader.  Martin Luther King Jr. wasn’t an ordinary person but he grew up and became the predominant leader of the Civil Rights Movement to end racial segregation and discrimination in America. during the 1950s and 1960s and a leading spokesperson for nonviolent methods of achieving social change. I do celebrate MLK day because what Martin did and sacrificed for this nation was legendary including his famous I have a dream speech and proving that we are all equal no matter what skin color, race, or any differences.
